Transfer to Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort
The new luxury resort was reopened on February 15, 2019. It is in the middle of the desert and is easy to get to (we with a rental car). At each fork in the road, we asked ourselves the question during the 43-minute journey: “Where do we come from and what can we expect”.
Check-in und Lobby
When you arrive at the hotel, a perfect parking service awaits you. In the lobby at check-in we were greeted and spoiled with stollen, cake and wonderfully fragrant Christmas cookies.
At the reception, the basic briefing for the hotel, which was built in the style of a Moroccan town, took longer than in other hotels. Not surprising with a size of 2.5 hectares and everything that the Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort has to offer.

Two Bedroom Suite
Our suite had an incredible 230 sqm with balconies and terrace. The view of the desert is fascinating at all times of the day.
The suite has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a guest toilet, a dining room and a living room. The interior is inspired by Arabic.
Al Wathba 
The room is equipped with the latest technology. Everything is controllable via touchscreen. A room tour usually takes about one minute on average. This was not possible with this suite.
Pool
The pool in the middle of the desert has a size of 1,000 square meters and pictures simply say more than 1000 words.

Breakfast
A delicious selection of various dishes is available to guests for breakfast. A bar with freshly squeezed juices, traditional Emirati breakfast specialties and a live cooking station for egg dishes. The in-house bakery delights with fresh bread and pastries.
Restaurants
In the six restaurants and bars, guests can choose from exquisite wines, various beers or spirits. In each restaurant, the guest can choose whether he wants to dine inside, outside or privately.
But if you want to do without alcohol, you should devote yourself to the mocktails. We were able to experience a truly unique mocktail challenge. We created the right mocktail for all dishes. We were able to enjoy countless variations and did not miss the glass of wine for dinner.
Talise Spa
The Talise Spa has 10 individual treatment rooms and two treatment rooms for couples. It is the perfect retreat for couples and groups of friends.
Hammam, sauna, whirlpool, steam bath, crystal salt room, and hot and cold plunge pools are separate for men and women.
Falkshow
The hotel houses six hawks and a Harris hawk. A falcon show takes place daily in the evening sun. The falconer explains his work and tells what is special about falcons.
Falcons on the move: Falcons travel at least business class and sit in your waiting room. Traveling in a box is unthinkable. The danger is too great that the falcon could injure itself on its wings.
Desert Riding Experience
A special highlight and moment of switching off was the ride into the desert. A total of 12 Arabian horses are lovingly cared for and trained in the stables directly above the resort. Both for beginners and experienced riders, the horse trainers always look for the right horse. As an experienced rider, Alexandra was given Baku, who could hardly wait to accelerate on the long racetracks. Wellness and good food are things that you can get in many hotels and in many places, but a ride in the desert is not forgotten so quickly and we can more than recommend it!
