The Hotel Schweizerhof in St. Moritz is a true true Hotel classic . For over 120 years, it welcomes its guests. With a particularly central location in the center of St. Moritz, the hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the Chantarella funicular, which provides easy access to the St. Moritz ski area.

But even for those who do not ski the hotel is ideal. Once across the street and you can stroll comfortably in the middle of shops and shopping. The guests of the hotel are like the hotel team international. We experienced our stay in a splendid, harmonious-multicultural atmosphere.

We thought of it as a modern hotel culture in Belle Epoque ambience. The belle époque refers to the period of about 30 years around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Of course, the Schweizerhof offers everything that international guests expect: hotel rooms with lake view, free Wi-Fi, wellness and sauna, a young kitchen as well as the Fondetta, a small cozy room where fondue and raclette are served, and of course the hotel bar “Barstreet “Complete the feel-good package perfectly. From the summer of 2019, guests can also book suites.

Our room at Schweizerhof

We stayed in a room with lake view. It offers a breathtaking view, no matter what time of day or weather conditions. From our room you could even see a race of the legendary White Turf. Also on the Poloplatz on the lake the week before, the Snow Polo , the view is top notch.

Although the hotel is over 120 years old, it is well insulated and very quiet. Comfortable beds and underfloor heating in the bathroom also provide a feel-good atmosphere.

Unique features of the Schweizerhof

Every Saturday it says: “Arrive during the holidays”. From 19:00 Hotel Director Habersaat personally welcomes guests to the Welcome Aperitif in the hotel lobby.

Every Sunday between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, kitchen whisper is announced. The chef and his team invite you to informative and sociable kitchen fun and show their everyday kitchen life. It started with a glass of Prosecco and pizza corners. The team had already prepared a lot. This use the hotel guests for in-depth questions. This allowed us to elicit little tricks from the pros. Finally, we were spoiled with a goodie bag.

Every night the pianist Renato Falerni created a wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed these moments of tranquility with a cocktail in front of the open fireplace.

Great praise must also be given to the parking service. With every car, a foil is placed over the windshield and the vehicle is freed from the snow on a regular basis. One meter of fresh snow overnight, as we experienced it, a true luxury.

The charm of the Canton of Engadin

After sunset, people from all over the world meet in a confined space for an aperitif (drink) to celebrate themselves and the day. In this traditional bar culture, one casually talks to strangers and encounters a cue (p) li, d. H. a glass of sparkling wine or champagne for a good time.

Here are a few of our impressions from St. Moritz during the evening walk.

Culinary arts at Schweizerhof

The Segantinisaal serves food made from classic, regional ingredients, with an international flair and traditional classics.

We had a fantastic 4 course meal. Served with natural friendliness and a lot of charm – simply contemporary.

Even those who do not reside in the hotel can dine at the Schweizerhof and book a table. We can only recommend it. Top quality on the plate and an atmosphere that we like to remember.

The elegant Segantinisaal is also used as a breakfast room. Delicious local products, excellent bread and croissants are available at the buffet. A separate station for egg dishes is integrated in the hall. The order is served conveniently directly at the table.

Restaurant Acla

The Acla is of modern in design. Through the large windows penetrates a lot of light and so can wonderful watching the bustle on the street.

Small homemade delicacies await the guest here. The crisp Salad variations, classic soups and fantastic Pasta and pizza inspired us. We always noticed the proximity to Italy.

But also the signature burger of the house and especially the club sandwich were 100% convincing. It is also said that you can recognize a good kitchen sandwich basically a good kitchen, as it is absolutely the case here!

Wellness at Schweizerhof

Place to be – On the roof of the Hotel Schweizerhof is a recreational landscape with breathtaking views of the St. Moritzsee and the Engadine mountains with sauna, steam bath, solarium, relaxation room and large fresh air terrace.

If you feel muscle hardening after a strenuous day of skiing, a mountain hike or after golf, you can choose the suitable massage from the generous offer of massages.

For the small hunger there are dried fruits and nuts. Water and juices are also available for the guest for free.

Alphütte Clavadatsch

The alpine hut Clavadatsch belonging to the Schweizerhof in the Suvretta area is available to all guests. It can be reached on foot in about 45 minutes from the hotel.

Until 1956, the rustic Alpine hut was still a cowshed. Inside, a cast-iron stove and the open log fire in the fireplace. Outside on the terrace the guest has a breathtaking view. No matter what the weather, the Clavadat alpine hut invites you to stop off.

Résumé to our stay

The Schweizerhof has a harmonious feel-good atmosphere. The hotel has kept the charm of different decades and has taken the right steps with a great deal of sensitivity to be able to offer all modern conveniences to the modern and yet tradition-conscious guest.

The hotel team completes this atmosphere perfectly according to the motto “We are Ladies and Gentlemen Serving Ladies and Gentlemen” Thank you – you were just great!
